At PilgrimUL, we are excited to introduce the “Roan” Ultralight Framed Backpack, a game-changer for thru-hikers, weekend adventures, and any backcountry adventurer requiring a backpack without compromise. Designed with an innovative carbon fiber hoop frame, this backpack sets a new standard for comfort and overall weight. We set out to design a backpack with a class-leading “capacity to weight” ratio to create a true ultralight workhorse. To the best of our knowledge, the Roan is the only pack available that can reach 45 pounds of capacity comfortably while weighing a mere 22 ounces.

The “Roan” offers a thoughtfully designed layout with multiple compartments and pockets, allowing for efficient organization of gear, while external attachment points cater to trekking poles, water bottles, and more. Crafted for long-distance treks, this backpack’s minimalist yet robust construction embodies reliability and functionality, making it the go-to choice for those seeking to embrace outdoor journeys without compromise.

-Inverted U-shaped carbon fiber frame keeps the pack structured in both vertical and horizontal directions. (Can be removed to convert to frameless pack)
